Phyllis is partner of Gentry, Smith, Dettmering, Morgan, Schnatmeier & Collins, LLP. Her practice includes Criminal Defense and Consumer Bankruptcy Protection.
Phyllis was born in Augusta, Georgia in 1974. She moved to Marietta in 1975 and was educated by the Marietta City School System. After graduating Summa Cum Laude from Marietta High School in 1992, she was accepted to Georgia Institute of Technology. She received a Bachelor of Science in Applied Microbiology from Georgia Tech in 1997. In 2004, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from Michigan State University, College of Law.
Prior to joining Gentry, Smith, Dettmering, Morgan, Schnatmeier & Collins, Phyllis owned and operated her own law practice, Phyllis Gingrey Collins, Attorney at Law. In 2004, she began her legal career as an Assistant Solicitor General in the Cobb County Judicial Circuit prosecuting criminal misdemeanors. She is currently a team member of the Cobb County DUI Court, an alternative to incarceration drug treatment court.
Phyllis is a member of the Georgia Bar Association, Cobb County Bar Association, and Georgia Tech Bar Association. She is also a member of the United State Supreme Court Historical Society, as well as, the United States Congressional Club. Phyllis is an Associate Judge in the Municipal Court of Marietta.
Phyllis is actively involved in her community as well. She is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Marietta, Cobb County Chamber of Commerce, and Honorary Commanders. In 2008, she was inducted into the Marietta High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
Phyllis is married to Jerry Collins and they have 4 children. They attend Saint Joseph Catholic Church. Phyllis and Jerry are active contributors to SafePath Children's Advocacy and MUST Ministries, both local Cobb County charities. They are also proud members of the West Side School PTA and the Marietta High School True Blue Club.
